WET POWDER COATING (WPC)
This deposition process applies a thin coating of metal to another surface. In our application of this technology, extremely fine and absolutely pure titanium powder is applied to our polypropylene cones. This results in an increase to the cone's strength-to-weight-ratio as well as in the reduction of unwanted out-of-bandwidth harmonics and acoustical distortion.
BALANCED TEMPERATURE
TECHNOLOGY (BTT)
Heat adversely affects the performance of electrical components. MB QUART's Balanced Temperature TechnologyTM eliminates this condition through the application of unique heat dissipation techniques creating a constant and predictable temperature environment for all critical Q System components. BTT technology provides unrivaled sound quality and predictable, long-term performance.
ALUMINUM TWEETER HOUSINGS
Our Q-Line 25 mm aluminum tweeter housing represents a direct application of our BTT technology. Every Q tweeter is encapsulated within a specially designed aluminum cooling housing. Coupled to the tweeter's motor assembly, the excess energy generated inside the tweeter's magnet and voice coil assembly is dissipated into the surrounding environment, resulting in exceptional performance, improved power handling and high reliability.
TITANIUM DOME
Titanium was initially developed for the aerospace industry because of its superior strength-to-weight-ratio. It is at the same time both very light and very strong. As a material for tweeter dome application, titanium is ideal only if properly engineered. MB QUART has nearly perfected the use of titanium over the past 25 years. Both our Q and Premium tweeter domes incorporate a composite surround material connecting the dome to the housing. This combination of dome materials reduces unwanted, out-of-bandwidth harmonics and acoustical distortion. The result is an extremely smooth frequency response and extended bandwidth for a truly musical listening experience. This is what gives MB QUART its signature sound.
DIE CAST ALUMINUM BASKETS
Designed specifically for low-profile installations, these die-cast aluminum baskets are unique in that they can be installed in factory speaker locations. Lightweight but extremely rigid, the thin-wall casting technique provides structural integrity without undue stress on the mounting surface. The neodymium magnet is hydraulically pressed and permanent secured into the frame cavity. Generously sized integral cooling ribs for improved heat convection represent our original application of BTT technology.
CONNECTION TERMINALS
The Q Line die-cast basket incorporates a gold-plated, multi-application input connection terminal system that provides a safe and secure electrical contact. Regardless of the wire conductor size, solder, screw-down or plug-in spade connections are possible.
